In the past 2 years including today here in central Kentucky we have had 3 major wind storms. Maybe my memory is bad but I never remember anything like this when I was growing up.

I remember the one when Ike came through because my airplane landed in it, then they closed the airport. I then proceeded to go home where there was no power to open the garage door and when I went up on the deck to try to get in one of the window screens smacked me in the mouth!
Strange stuff!
I agree that it is a bit strange.......but that seems to be the norm now. I've been waiting for cold weather since October, and it's just now getting here. So far, duck season has been horrible!
Seems to be getting the last of the leaves off the trees. And blowing all my neighbor's leaves into my KOI pond.
Be a nice day to be on KY lake aye! I sure hope no one tried to go duck hunting ouot there this morning.

We are under a high wind advisory until 8 PM this evening with gusts up to 65 MPH this afternoon.
All this wind in the last couple of yrs I feel has to do with the way the big storm fronts are now coming in off the west coast, either or nice an windy up on our hill having to walk any where at lest @ a 45 deg. angle

I'd like to see those pics! By the time Ike got here it was only rain....about 8 inches worth.

I drove over the Ohio River at lunch here in downtown Louisville.......4 or 5 foot rollers and plenty of white caps at a close spacing. Looking farther downstream, they appeared even larger!
Ky Lake was rolling like 10 to 15 foot rollers that day, it was splashing up on Ky Dam on the road from the wind and waves, Ike was a killer for sure.
The wind blew like 45 to 50 down here this morning so i didn't go check out the dam. I have been out there in 45 in the Jet-a-Marina tournament about 10 years ago. I want be out there again with those kind of winds.

We need some more of those nasty Ky/Barkley pictures on here. I've seen the 4-5 footers there but never the real monsters.
