    Lexington Vet

Anyone know of a vet here in town? Own any cats?

We got a kitten just before I moved here. She needs to be spayed and declawed. Some don't agree with the declawing but my leather couches are singing a different song! I got one place that it was over $450 for both and another place that was $425.

Just seems awful high if you ask me!!!!

    Matt

Wow, we have an old family friend deep in SE KY that did ours and he only charged $75 for both procedures. However he only de-clawed the the front paws. Something to consider, give those little guys something to scratch their heads with, they are really good about not destroying anything with their back claws.

I know it's a 2 hour drive, but we had both cats declawed (front only), one neutered and one spayed for about half that....seems like $180 total.....

Bring her down to Louisville one of my clients a vet, I'll get her number and call tommorow and get a quote. She loves animals and gave me a free exam for ours last time we spoke.

Just make sure that the cat will always be an inside cat and you are not going to throw it outside later...They do not make it very long outside without claws..That being said, I agree that they need declawed if they live inside and the front claws are enough...Do not need to do all 4 ...

Only the fronts are being taken out...

I called the Humane Society here in town. They won't declaw, but they are only charging $30 to spay the cat!

Kinda pisses me off to see what the vets are charging after finding that out!

Hey Matt, it's hard to beat the Woodford Clinic just on the Lex. side of Versailes on 60, they are a great vet clinic, not to mention they are a GREAT customer of mine. To bad that kitty isn't a horse, I could hook you up at HDM or Rood & Riddle. Give me a call sometime.

One of my neighbors is a vet and a dam good one, both large & small animals.
Last time he came to our place floated(filed for all you non horse people) his teeth + shots and was only $50 bucks and that was coming out to our place...like a house call.

Would offer you bring the kitty down to us Matt and would get it done for you but am afraid our 4 Boxer's would think it was some kind of new running squeaky toy

Hey Matt this is newriver from smalljaw board. How fast you need it done? My sister and brother in law have a vet clinic in Lebanon. I will be there at thanksgiving hunting and we could do it in the evening no problem. Might make you help with a herd check or something. Nothing like palpating cows to make you greatfull you're not a vet.
