I used to live about 20 miles north of Brookville Lake. I fished it almost every week for over 20 years. It can be a very tough lake. However the last couple of years before I moved to Alabama, I think it was coming around some. As was said, don't even try to fish on a weekend. It's a zoo out there. This time of year, fish the flats early with a top water or shallow crankbait. Then work your way to the rocky points. I always used a jig, worms or the same on a Carolina rig. There are several rocky points with wood on them...those seem to be the best.
During the day there are some ledges on the river channel if you can find them that will produce some fish. There are smallies in that lake which keep things interesting. Down by the dam on the west side is a nice bank, rocks and wood on it very close to deep water. Keep in mind I've not fished there for about 2 years.

Of course I talk to myself...sometimes I need expert advice.
Heres want my opinion of that lake here lately has been..
Bite has been tough, maybe the cooler weather this weekend will help.
Fished it the 14th for a couple of hours nothing going on except some white bass jumps
Will be there tomorrow and then back on sat. for a tournament 4am-noon. Fishing has been tough there, this goofy weather has them all screwed up.
It is starting to get a little better, or mabe im getn lucky, but the last two weeks i have weighed in a few nice ones. Had a few smallies 3lb+. The lake is FULL of shad rt now but all i have pulled out of the boils is short fish. The better fish have come by fishing slow. Good luck

That lake is always full of shad, this is the time of year that they will really boil up.
