    1998 Johnson 9.9 high thrust

This motor has a starter on it and a electric fuel prime. my question is can i get away from all that and just make it into a pull rope start which it also has. Can i bypass the electrical primer pump. It looks like that i could. any help i would appreciate. thanks

I guess anything is possible but my question is why? I'd rather have electric start and the push button convienience of an electric primer. Taking the primer out of the equation would result in loosing the ability to enrichen the fuel system on cold starts.

reason to asking is. this motor was setup for stick stear and so i have to buy a tiller for it. so im not sure about all the electrical components it needs to get it back to tiller or if it does.
