How did your boy's first tourney go?

We had a good time. He fished hard all day and never caught a fish. When I say hard I mean he only stoped to eat 2 packs of crackers. The fish didn't cooperate to say the least. It was a 6 fish limit and we had 2 nice fish and 2 12" fish for just over 7lbs. As usuall I lost a fish or 2 that would have put us in the money. We ended up about 12th or so out of 30+ teams. The fish I did catch came by dead sticking a wacky rigged trick worm around cover. On the way home he wanted to know if there were any more tournys this summer. I can see many more good years to come fishing tournys with him.

Thats true if he had a tuff day and wanted more I bet it was fun watching him work today.

Ever time we stopped he'd hop up and unstrap our rods and get the net ready. He's really improving on his accuracy with casting the past few trips. He was standing on the back deck and casting way in front of me. I had to tell him to not cast so far.

Daniel, That's Great! I love to see kids excited about fishing.

I think I'd get just as much enjoyment out of watching him fish as I would fishing myself. That is great Daniel.

That is great Danial. My son is 5 an he's starting to come into it pretty hard. I hope in a few years he is as die hard as Jacob is.

kids are a hoot. my 9 y/o daughter is always begging me to take her out. came home from afghanistan a few years ago. I couldn't get out of the truck and she's asking me when I'm taking her fishing.
