Weather permitting I plan on going to Wawasee Sunday morning. Any suggestions for spots / lure selection? We never end up doing very well![]()

Not sure what the water temps are up there right now, most likely in the high 50's or lower 60's...maybe. I'd fish the channels, that water tends to warm up quicker, plus I'm certain that there are bass that are hatched, and live their whole lives in some of those channels and never leave. If that doesn't work...then I'd head out to the main lake and fish the weedline drops offs with a crankbait, worm, or jig. The weedline west of Morrison Island has been known to produce a nice fish or two.![]()

Of course I talk to myself...sometimes I need expert advice.
Jerry you fishing the Lagrange Cty. Bassmasters Open ? They will probably on the beds in the channels.

No, just fun fishing. Any recommendations on colors? I was thinking about throwing a white Spinnerbait & Chatterbait in the channels. I caught a nice Northern in the channels last year about this time on a chatterbait but not much in the way of bass.

I like your idea to throw a white spinner bait in the channels. Maybe chartreuse too. As far as crank baits go...I always had great luck there with two colors, brown crawdad pattern/red belly and firetiger. I always did well with worms in dark colors, black, blue/black or brown. Same colors with the jigs.

Fish the darkest colored canals you can find...Do not fish the real clear ones, the fish are too spooky..You will see some big ones, but will be chase them all day and not get bit...Throw craw patterned shallow cranks to grass that is out away the bank a few feet - 6-10 feet...The best ones are on the north side of the lake on the Wawasee ramp end...Also check the canals that go under the road by the marina between Wawasee and Syracuse...
We use the teeny wee craw in natural and chartruese (sp) colors. Also, I like to use a K&E Bass stopper in purple w/white stripe both in weedless and non in the channels and under the docks. I like to fish Johnson's bay and the channels just outside of Johnson's bay. If you don't pick up much there, try the point just outside of Johnson's between the bay and the main lake in the weed lines there. On the other end of the lake by the public launch try the docks and shores by the condos and between the condos and the marina. There is a nice drop off at the entrance of that small bay with a great flat covered in weeds. I like to use a baby 1- in blue and chartruse there. Good luck unless you meant this past Sunday..... if so, tell us how you did.
