Just returned from the Holler (Dale)

Got back from a great weekend on Dale. Great to be away and on the water, but fishing was a little slow. Even the local guys were talking about how slow the fishing had been that week - even on live bait.

We stayed at Wisdom and fished from state dock to wolf river.

Lake was crowded on Friday, hard to find a point anywhere that didn't have somebody camping on it and somebody else in line. Jig bite is all that we could get going. One slot smallie, one 21incher, and a large mouth between the four of us.

Saturday the jig bite was non existent for the 10 of us. I broke out the fly and wore out the the 12 - 15 inch large mouth and kentucks. FNF bite should be turning on pretty soon.

I'm glad you posted that, I love to float-n-fly fish at dale hollow and was wondering if anyone was catching them on it yet. I don't care what size they are, anything sure is fun on those long rods and light line!

It was pretty tough for us Saturday too. We had about 12 solid bites and boated 4 or 5 slots and one under. The mid to lower lake area had been well all week and quite a bit of pressure but hopefully the bite will pick up soon. I may give the fly a try on Tuesday. Jeremy, check your IM.

I'm heading down to Dale Tues also. Possibly do the fly thingy. Going to try to stay in the KY side. Would the state ramp be the best place to launch with the low water conditions?(21' Triton?)
    Good luck to all!

You can launch there without any problem. You may want to winch it back on the trailer though.

    Thanks,
Maybe I'll see you on the lake. If you see a black Triton w/silver trim stop and say hay.

Sure will! I may be in my white skeeter or a 20' white triton. Depends on if the guy I'm going with want's to take his boat. We'll be at the state dock at daylight.
