    Amsoil outboard oil

Sorry if this is a repost, but has anyone used there saber 100:1 mix? I have a 1995 johnson 150 faststrike. I had the vro taking out and now mix oil with the gas. I have used johnson oil since i got it in 1995 with no problems but was wondering if this oil would help lower the amount of smoke. Thanks

for less money and less smoke use the Evinrude XD-50 oil or the XD-100 synthetic which costs more.

Smoke is often from an out of tune motor, low engine temps - thermostats, a "VRO" pump with air in the line, etc.

The Amsoil H.P. Injector can also be used as a 50:1 premix.

Typically syenthic oil will smoke less than conventional oil. You can pre mix Amsoil HP Injector oil. Less smoke is only a small benifit of Amsoil or any other syenthic oil. The best thing is less carbon build up because syenthic oil is an ashless formula. Everything I own that has a two stroke motor I run a 100% full syenthic oil. I use Amsoil but recommend any brand syenthic over conventional oil.

The Amsoil saber mix is designed for small engines/weedeaters/leaf blowres/chainsaws. Amsoil HP Injector is for boat motors.

A marine mechanic once told me as long as we have ethanol fuel and regular 2 stroke oil on the market I will always have business

Amsoil makes two types of Sabre 100:1, one for air cooled two cycles, weedeaters, chainsaws, lawnmowers and so forth. Sabre outboard is for watercooled engines, two diffrerent blends.

I run the Amsoil H.P. Injector in my 115 E-TEC because the owners manual says not to run X-D50 at temps. below 32 degrees, I do alot of winter walleye fishin on the Mississippi way below 32 degrees.

I am a fan of amsoil, run it in all my vehicles. However I can get HD100 for $6/gal less than amsoil so I run the HD. Are any of you finding amsoil cheaper than HD100?

I'm in the Amsoil preferred customer program so I by at wholesale prices. It slightly went up this year but last year H.P. Injector was around $23.00 a gallon if my memory is correct.

    Re: (Mark Tr.)

How do you get on that program. I spend about $750/yr on the products. The quoted price on a 4gal of HP injector case was $41/gal

That price is high compared to what I pay at a local bait store. If my memory is correct the last gallon of HP Injector oil I bought was $26-27 give or take a $1. I went buy there this week to pick up a gallon and they were out so I picked up a quart at $6.79 plus tax for $7 plus total. I then stopped buy my local Napa to get a gallon and they were out. Napa has some strange prices because a quart was almost $8 and a gallon was $37. Why would anybody buy a gallon when 4 quarts would be cheaper. I asked if it was priced wrong and they acted like they were insulted so I left buying nothing.

    Re: (wejohns)

Go to amsoil website and look for "preferred customer" sign up. Costs $10 for 6 month trial or $20 for a year. A gallon from their site is $34.50 without the discount, if you save almost $10 bucks per gallon it is a no brainer.

This may be a dumb question but can you use the HP Injector through your VRO? Site says premix or injected.
