Anyone been on Rough River Lake

Merry Christmas everyone,
I was thinking about going to Rough this Sat. for some bass fishing, just wondering if anyone has been on the lake lately? What the water looks like and is anyone catching fish, and on what. Any info will help.

I haven't been personally but I have a friend that lives on the lake. We were supposed to go crappie fishing today but he called last night and canceled. He said the creeks were boiling mud out onto the main lake. When that lake is at winter pool it VERY small so 1/4" of rain trashes the everything except the last mile or so to the dam since thats mostly rock banks. It usually takes a while for the lake to recover too. you know what they say about cold muddy water too. like i said i haven't been there personally but after him telling me that i know i won't be going there for a few weeks.

Thank you for the info. I guess I will just stay home and save my money, I was going to fish a tourny there Sat. but it is going to be rainy and I go back to work Tues. My boss may not be to happy if I get sick and call in, I have been off for 3 months with hip replacment. Thanks again

no problem. rough is just a strange lake when its down. it doesnt take anything to get things all screwed up. after the rain the other day and the rain coming this weekend i wouldnt be surprised if the lake rose 8-10ft too. it's jsut weird like that.
