So about a month back Ashley said she wanted to go deer hunting with me. I thought "Sure you do." Well she wasn't kidding. We went to the country last weekend and did some target practice together and she actually shot better than me.Well she killed her first deer this past Saturday in Bath Co. And she was a trooper I tell you. We hunted together and I gave her first choice of what we saw.
First to start the morning on the way in on the four wheeler I skim by a downed log partly in the road and it catches her foot and rips it back. She screams and I think it's shattered. Well she limps into the woods, but nothing that morning. After lunch it's feeling worse after it tightened up sitting in the cold all day. But she puts some icy hot and ace bandages on her ankle and knee and heads back out.![]()
Well right before dark she spots 2 does and as they come closer they spot/smell us but don't run off, just stare but knowing something wasn't right. Well she does perfect and plays red light green light everytime they lean to the ground or turn away. Then she blasts a perfect heart shot from 50-60 yards away. I think I was more excited than her. Then I pull it out into a nearby field to field dress it and jokingly I said "Ok, now you have to gut it." Well she jumped right in there no questions asks.![]()
I was very impressed. The only thing she had to say really was "Damn, I wish it had antlers though."

Here are a few pics.
A funny one.
And proof she gutted it.
