    Little Help of Tree Identification

Yesterday I noticed on some trees, a growth (hard to explain) but would say when out of the water looks like a real old sagging boob While other trees did not have this growth....question is. The trees without the growth, are these hard wood trees...cedar, etc. and the ones with the growth soft wood trees...Pine, etc.

Are these live trees or brush piles?

Re: Little Help of Tree Identification (agreynolds)

Not roots, and these are on dead standing trees and they show up when the water level is dropped. So these are normally under water...its a growth on the trees of some short. The ones you can still see in the water are floating and Look like some kind of spongy growth. Will try and get some pics Sunday or Monday if that will help.

Those are algae balls, they are common almost everywhere. They are more common in fairly nutrient rich water.

OK thanks for all that info., now why do they seem to only grow on certain kind of trees?

because the ph level in some trees is condusive to the photosynthesizing of some of the airborne spores causing the methane levels in the bark to synthesize and germinate into a sack.

What Buck posted sound more like a tree fart than some kind of underwater cellular growth. But who knows, just am starting to figure out where those growths are there are no bass around those trees.
