    BE AWARE AT MAXI

Had a club tourney there last night, (fishing sucked), a guy in our club pulled out of the ramp and someone told him he had no lights. He shortly found out that someone had cut his plug right off his truck. took about 5 inches of wiring and his plug...some people just amazes me how someone could be so disrespectful of someone's property....just wanted to let you all know to be aware of your stuff...

I used to fish Maxi a lot several years ago. Was he parked by the public ramp? There is no lighting there (or at least there didn't used to be) and you park along the road right? I'm surprised there isn't more vandalism there more often.

You can get your plug stolen anywhere....... being wired direct is pain to fix (sounds like vandalism not theft) I always carry a spare in my glove box

Doesn't surprise me a bit....................They hate fishermen up there for some reason.

If you guys are having a problem at one of your lakes with some of the locals or folks who dont like fishing maybe a small group of you can get together and solve the problem.

You are right about that Damon. A lot of folks who live on the natural lakes up north seem to think they own the lake. They have property owners associations who lobby with the state, DNR etc, to not improve launching facilities. They figure it will keep the fisherman off the lake. They have also been known to take matters into their own hands from time to time...so to speak. Buck has the right idea!!

Park one rig in the lot. Get some chicken wings and beverages and sit a SUV with some buddies for a while. When you catch them.....er....umm.....call the police or something.

There was a light at the ramp, and it should still be there, because the club that I belonged to put it in as well as the piers... The Maxi Homeowners Association should be called the Maxi Lake Owners Association, because they believe that they own the lake.. . They stopped the expansion of parking along the old Railroad right-of-way, and they fight tooth and nail every time someone suggests upgrades at the ramp... I don't think that it will ever improve...

It really isn't suprising that this happens there - anything to get rid of the fishermen....

Somebody needs a severe lesson. I know it is difficult to be so close to the watewr and not fish, but in the name of revenge, I would be waiting in the woods with some buddies and some baseball bats.

Re: BE AWARE AT MAXI (mikedaleo)

I like sitting in an SUV eating chicken better than sitting in the woods but whatever works. The ball bat scenerio would not be realistic for me b/c if they run I dont think I could catch them since I have stopped training for marathons and triatholons , however, a tazer can go 25 yards, it will put them on the ground, you can continue to taze them until you catch up to them....then....umm.....do whatever. Oh yeah those barbs have to come out too and that is alot of fun.
