Went down to Cedar Creek to do some fishing this weekend. I fished Fri Night, Sat Morning and Evening, Sun Morning and fishing was TOUGH!!! Water tems where in the mid 80's and I noticed the shad where popping the top of the water which means low oxygen levels in the water. My first observation was there are not supposed to be shad in this body of water and the second the shad was about the size of bluegill!! So people have introduced shad into this body of water and they are in abundance!! Don't know what this will do to the crappie population which has been really slow to grow.
I had a couple of short hits but could not even get the deep fish to bite. I heard that a couple of people have caught some 24" 7llb largemouth out of this lake already!! Unfortunately they are putting in a beach by the 150 ramp which has an abundance of idiots already taking up trailer spots and going the wrong way on the launch ramp.
