    Hal's Landing Cumberland River

I have been expanding my fishing knowledge into fly fishing and muskie fishing this year. I think this will open up year round fishing for me and this weekend was a dang good start.

I pulled out the ole GPS in search of this place which is just a gravel road off the beaten path. We hiked down stream a little to get away from the other guys fly fishing. It was a little slow at first but we did start catching some nice Rainbows from 1:30-3:30 when they started up the generators. Forgot how great it is to catch good size fish on light equipment. These fish are so beautiful as well!!

Hoping to get out one more time around here before I head down to Gatlinburg the first weekend in November to do some fly fishing.

If you are looking to catch a muskie right now is the time to be on Green River Lake. Every year in the fall when the water starts to cool down they move up into shallow water. I have caught/broke off several a main lake flats. Most fish were 20"-35" I know for a fact that lake has 45 +" fish in it but all I fish for is bass so if I catch one it is buy accident. I have had a hold of some pigs in the deep water but never shallow. I don't know if my hart could stand a top water bite from a 45" fish because the small one will scare you. Through out the year I will catch about 7or 8 and just about all of them are in the fall. They are fun to catch if you ever want to give Green a try just let me know the boat is in the garage and ready and the lake is almost in my backyard.

Green is an awesome lake, went down there last year a few times to fish for bass. Saw a lot of people trolling for muskie and would not mind to go back.

I believe we are heading to Rough this weekend then probably back to Cumberland last weekend of the month. Then its off to Gatlinburg first weekend of November to do some more trout fishing in the little pigeon river!! I am really hooked on this trout fishing think it will get me through the winter downtime.
