Harbor Freight 1000# Vehicle Dollies for Dual Axle Trailer

I have a dual axle trailer and was wondering if anybody has ever used these vehicle dollies from harbor freight? if so, what do you think of them. I was going to put these under the front wheels (front trailer axle), will these work for helping to move the boat in tight areas?

They'd be great to put on your boat. You could move it sideways with dollies and really get it out of the way. I'd like to have a set to put under the collector car I don't have time to work on too.

I use the mechanical wheel dollies from harbor freight to swing my boat crossways in my garage. For winter storage I use the antique car dollies to move my boat sideways out of the way. I can usually move the ole 520 Ranger by myself with no problems.

I'd find a way to put a hitch on my mower or something before I went to the trouble of getting the darn floor jack out and jacking it up to put dollies underneath or take them off before and after I wanted to go fishing.

Use the mechanical wheel dolly's. They work great under the front axle. I can move swing the front end of my 21' Triton right into the garage just as if it were on a single axle trailer. Just get her close, put on the dolly's and slide her over.

I love the dollys as well I couldn't have a boat without them. 1 inch of clearance when I swing the boat over and just make it in garage

The harbor freight dollies would not move my Z118 Ranger at all. Especially sideways. Took them back. Ig you want a good mechanical dolly get you a set of Gojacks. There is a reason harbor freight is cheap.

So I need to not only move my tr21 tandem axle side to side but I also need to push it into the garage from the driveway. I have a dogleg left into my garage. Cant use a vehicle. Cant push the boat alone. Will something like this work? Dont have a riding lawn mower and cant afford a quad atv. Ideas?

the harbor freight mechanical wheel Dolly's put my GoJak brand ones to shame. The HF have steel wheel casters; and the cheap plastic caster wheels on my gojak are crap; shattered a couple. Use a 25% off coupon on the HF dollys and it makes them an even better deal.
    -
anywho; the HF mechanical wheel Dolly's are great. I needed 4 for my double leaf sprung Ameritrail tandem axle. 2 Dolly's did nothing to lift the wheels not jacked. So it depends on the type of suspension on your trailer, whether you will need 2 or 4?

The wheel Dolly's work best on smooth as glass, concrete surfaces. Even then; my 21 footer on tandem axle with 225ho hanging off the back; can be a chore. The trick is getting the casters pointed the right direction. That takes some real muscle. If you have to switch directions a bunch; you may swing the boat tongue; and if the dolly casters are pointed a particular direction; that's where the trailers gonna go. Not like pushing around a single axle; that's for sure.
    -
If you have any type of crack in the surface you're pushing the Dolly's over; or some kind of expansion joint; you can forget it. A boat/trailer/engine and fuel still weighs a LOT! But I would not be able to snug it into my garage without them. Just don't think you will be pushing a boat around with 1 hand like a stroll in the park. Cause it's gonna take som oomph!

I use the dollies also. They have saved me from a heart attack or two trying to push the trailer.

I have a set of 4 of them for sale in the misc. section. I used them for a year getting my Champion 210 tandem in the garage. I had to use one under each wheel. Each one has 4 casters so that meant I was directing 16 casters at once. Getting them all "oriented" the same direction was the hard part and would take some real grunt work. After that it was relatively easy to move the boat around in the garage. I had a smooth concrete floor. Once I got the hang of it I could get the boat out fairly quickly. It's like anything else, you don't need someone else to "help" you. You just have to get your ritual down and then it is not that big of a deal.

It looks like I'm gonna be in this location for quite a while and don't need them so I hope to sell them. Honestly without them I would have been screwed . I can't stand having to "go somewhere" to putter with the boat and I certainly can't stand the idea of leaving it outside so for me they were a godsend.

I bought these - thinking I could put 2 under the rear (or front) axles and move my boat around in my garage. WRONG! They don't lift the other set of tires high enough off the ground to clear......so now they're just sitting in the corner of my garage not being used.

There are some suspensions that will work that way. Mine is not one of them. I had to use a wheel dolly on each wheel.

Yup, I think I read the ranger torsion bar suspension works with only 2? But my ameritrail double leaf spring needs all 4.
