I just bought a 2005 Skeeter SX190, which comes on a custom welded EZ Loader trailer. The trailer does not have a swing tongue and is 18 inches too long to fit straight into my garage. The optional trailer that comes with the swing tongue would fit in my garage with 3 inches to spare. I called EZ Loader and they do have a swing tongue kit for $480 plus another $500 labor for a welder to install it, but they do not recommend installing it. The person I spoke with at EZ Loader told me that with my trailer, which is an A frame with a frame going down the middle, that it is a very complex job, to install the kit. The frame would have to be cut in more than 3 places. He told me that most welding shops wouldn't take the job and that even if I found someone that did, the risk would be great that I would have problems with the trailer down the road. He firmly recommended against this option.
The only other option I can think of is to buy a new EZ Loader trailer with the swing tongue from a skeeter dealership - $3,400. Not cheap.
Anyone have any other ideas?
