Trailer tires

My new to me 98' Ranger R91 came with decent threaded car tires on it (BF goodrich touring t/a's). Its just been sitting in my garage for the past 2 months waiting for spring. Anyways the tires seemed low on air so as I was greasing the bearings I noticed a sticker on the trailer that read "run tires at 50psi" or something to that effect. However the tires on it have a max psi of 35 and when I was filling them they were already just over 40psi and still look low on air. Do I need to go buy actual trailer tires?
Oh I can't wait to go run my boat....where's the 60+ degree weather?!

Yes.

Car tires will always look low, because the sidewalls are so much softer.

The rating on the trailer is assuming you have traielr rated tires on it.

But be aware, trailer tires are expensive, and most are made in china

I think for now I will use them around home for spring but will definitely get actual trailer tires before I head north to leech lake from down here in Illinois.
