Uneven trailer tire wear

Just noticed today that both of my trailer tires are wearing uneven. The wear is on the inside of both. They are both bias ply. When I had these put on I was told to run them at 50lbs of pressure which I have. Any advice on steps I need to take to remedy this?

Give us some more information about your boat and trailer. How much does the boat weigh packed as you haul it for fishing? What kind of axle on the trailer, or at least tire size?

It could be that the trailer is or has been overloaded and the axle has bent to cause the tires to run with negative camber.

The boat is a 1992 monark bass 160 and the trailer is a 1992 ezloader that orginally came with the boat. Nada guides lists the net weight of the boat at 800lbs. The decks are 3/4 plywood (from factory) and the aluminum seems to be at least .90 gauge . Guessing total weight of everything aroung 1100 lbs? The axle is square and measures 1-1/2" and the tires are 175 80 13.

If you can rig a piece of straight metal to go from the top of the rim to the bottom of the rim without touching the tire or hub, you can determine your camber roughly with a little geometry. Or go by a tire/alignment shop and have them check camber.

My guess is your axle is bent, or should be bent and is now straight. A lot of smaller rated axles have a bow in them to get positive camber so the wheels run straight when it's loaded.

I'd also check the tire and see what it states for pressure.

max rated psi on tire is 50psi. I found a local frame and spring shop that says they can straighten the axle for around $100. I am wondering though that if the axle is bent does that mean that the axle is a little underrated? Dont guess I can complain a whole lot since the the trailer is close to 20 years old. Maybe I should go back with a new heavier rated axle?

Chamber or Toe In Wear, probable cause: Misaligned, Loose Parts, Incorrect Ride Height.
