    Marathons vs. Maxxis?

So I'm in the market for some new tires for my trailer. Last year(last August) I bought some cheapo bia tires and they are already shot. So this time I want to invest in some quality tires. Now I know Marathon's are the "norm" reccomended tires on here, however the more I research them, i'm seeing people that seem to not think as high of them within the past year or two.

So I thought I would see what else is out there and came across Maxxis M8008 and they seem to have overall good reviews. Just wondering if anyone has tried these or better yet used both for a comparable review? I tried doing a search on here and only found about 2 thread titles that mentioned the Maxxis'.

    Anyone got any input?

I've had them on for two years now and so far so good. Towing Skeeter 200sx on a single axle trailer. They come in white outlined also. I get them here for $63 for 215/75/14 . Who knows they may fail next trip. Tires are like beer. Everybody has a favorite.

Discount Tire Direct is a good source for both tires...

Holy cow can you let me know where you get them at cause I bought some in June and it was like 115 or maybe a little more after I had them installed.

But like you I run the same tire on a single axle stratos 201pro. They just seem like a heavier tire than what was on the trailer before, and give me a lot of piece of mind. Cause I tow the boat on a 1000 mile round trip 2-3 times a year and I really don't want to have trailer trouble.

I had marathons before and I had both blow out within an hour, and it took some time to get that fixed, lol.....Though I don't blame the tires they were 10 years old and dry rotted I probably shouldn't have even been using them....

I had marathons for 10 years, not one problem. It was difficult to get them in OWL, and heard they were not making OWL in the future, so I bought Maxxis after reading good reviews. Seems to be a good tire, with a good warranty also.

There is a Maxxis dealer near Charleston WV in the town of Quincy right off the WV Turnpike. They are the ones with the good prices.
