    2005 RangerTrail Brake Bleed

I have a 2005 RangerTrail tandem trailer.I have a self bleed kit that goes in the bleeder and have no problem getting fluid thru to the catch bottle but when stroking the actuator in the tongue,Iget an occasional small air bubble coming back up thru the fluid from the actuator in the funnel I use to fill.I know this cant be right because it seems air expelling back thru fluid means some has to be getting in the lines. This is on a swing away tongue.Could this be caused by a faulty actuator?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing to remember is to lower the nose of the trailer. With the bleeders higher than the master cylinder, air must travel away from the actuator. Once you have bled out the brakes, try backing up with the trailer unplugged. The brakes should come on with the side pin 1/2 to 3/4 of the way back in the travel slot. If the pin goes further than 3/4 of the travel, bleed some more. Once you get the brakes fully engaged you can leave them that way for a short time and try backing up again from the same position. If the wheels are still locked up, there most likely is no leak. But, if you can back up and the brakes have bled off, find the leak. Air can only get into the bled system if fluid leaks out first.
