    Easy Wheel Lift Kit

I was wondering if anyone else has the Easy wheel lift kit on their early 2000s stratos / javelin tandem trailer. This was an option that I ordered on my rig.

For those who might not know what I am talking about, this is a hydraulic jack system mounted on the trailer that when pumped up, extends the suspension on one axle which raises the other axle's tires off the ground. This allows you to spin the trailer around in a circle as if it is a single axle. I had to order this option as I have to spin trailer around in a limited space.

They did not offer this option for more than a few years. Mine still works good. Just wondering if anyone else out there has this and what your experiences might be.

Re: East Wheel Lift Kit (svfetter)

I do not have this on my trailer, however it sounds as though something I could use. Do you have a picture of this that you could post? I would be interested in seeing it and also wondering if this is something that could added to my trailer.

Also do you know who manufactured the trailer for Javelin/Statos boat? Are they made by Javelin/Stratos or by EZ Loader or someone like that?

Re: East Wheel Lift Kit (JJ-B-Boatin)

Don' t have any pictures currently. Trailer manufacture and install of this unit was by Stratos. Large Hand operated hydraulic pump located next to spare tire up front. Hydraulic lines (hard like brake lines) go to a piston on each side of axle out near fender. When pumped, rod extends out of each cylinder and contacts a 1/4" metal pad welded on top of axle, Pushing leaf springs down.

With the exception of the pump which can be unbolted and removed if repair is ever needed, all other components are welded into trailer. 2002 was the last year for the option. I tried for months to get the information from Stratos on where they purchased this system. I was concerned about future parts. Never had any success. I think I finally got a phone number out of them but could never reach anyone. I think the guy went out of business. I was told by stratos that I was the last trailer built with this option. It was the dropped from the option list. Not enough demand for it.

I have never in almost 30 years seen another trailer with anything like it. If I remember correctly it was a little over $1000.00 for this option. I am sure it would be much more today if you could find someone to produce it.

Car Guys talk about something being rare. Don't know if most boat guys realize how rare some models are. I found out on my 200 F/S they only made 30 in 2002 and I probably have the olny one with this option. Just wish rare boats held their value like cars.
