seeping it appears to be leaving oil on the front of the wheel on my 2006 Champion dual axle trailer. It is not leaking on the back. I guess you can just replace the front piece with a new one? If so how do you remove the existing one?
Thanks.

To remove the protector, use a block of wood and a hammer and strike down and turn the wheel. The protector will "walk" off. Before you go through all that, check to be sure the plug isn't to blame. The 06's were notorious for leaking at the plug due to teflon tape installed, that eventually stretched and allowed the oil to seep. Quite often is isn't apparent. Try using a piece of Kleenex or tissue and lay it on the hub at the fill plug area. If it is seeping, it will show a track down to the protector, (the low point). Often the protector is blamed for this simple fix as the oil collects in the piston area and is tossed as the wheel turns or simply drips on the floor. Re-seal the plug with rtv sealant or teflon paste, and torque to 10 ft lbs.
Thank you. I will give that a try.
