    Trailer "Bounce"

I drive a 2010 Escalade and I used the hitch receiver from my 2007 yukon. Basically towing-wise they are the same vehicle (Height, etc). When I got the Yukon I had a TR186 on a sinlge axle trailer and it towed great, couldn't even feel it back there. Now I have a 20X3 with a tandem axle trailer and I pulled that, first with the yukon and this spring with the Escalade. Problem is, it seems a lot more "Bouncy" if you get my meaning. When I go over bumps on the highway I can feel it a lot more and sometimes it seems to "Push" me.

The Escalade has major suspension (load leveling etc) and towes up to 8100 lbs, so that is not the issue. I was thinking the receiver may be too low and I have too much tongue weight. Or is that just the way this trailer rides?

    What do you guys think?

I would load it all up just as you would with all your gear and hook it up, pull onto level ground and put a level on the trailer tongue. I prefer just a bit above level as compared to level or just below level. Sometimes you will get extra people and stuff in the back of the vechile that will lower it which if it's level then that puts the trailer in a down hill position when you tow. Make sure your tongue shock absorber is working as it is supposed to and also make sure you are running your tires to the MAX inflation that is on the side walls, my Goodyear trailer tires call for 50 PSI but I run them at 55 PSI cause of the highway speed I am running.
You can adjust some of the load in the boat or vary your fuel load in the boat to help add or subtract some tongue weight, my TR-21 dual axle trailer is about 220-230 pounds of tongue weight. I don't get a lot of push from my trailer, but it will take forever to slow down if I let off the gas.

What kind of tires do the trailers have on them? I put brand new radial trailer tires on the trailer for my 18ft runabout. It bounced terribly. I moved those wheels and tires to my dad's 17ft Hydra Sports trailer and it pulls like a dream. I put new bias ply trailer tires on my runabout trailer with new wheels and now it rides smooth as well. Point is, my trailer felt completely different, just by changing tire styles.

I added shocks on my new trailor, and I can tell the difference in the whole ride of the Trailor. That's just a thought.

Not to be a wet blanket but the issue may be the load leveling system. I had a surburban that had the same issue and it felt like the trialer was driving the truck. I tried my neighbors boat, numerous receivers.

I talked the dealer and he said the auto ride systems would cause the issue and there was not much I could do about it. So I dumped the thing and got an Excursion. Problem gone.
