    Priming and bleeding

I installed a new Tie Down Engineering model 66 actuator and need to fill with fluid, prime and bleed. The only problem is I don't know how. I believe that you put fluid in the reservoir, push the piston in and out a few times, open up the bleed valves, put more fluid in and pump the piston.

Any additional clues would be appreciated. Thanks, Wally "FishnFed"

This might help some but I don't think it answers all your question.

If you have a plastic fitting that will screw into the back of the master cylinder with a tube attached and looped back into the top of the master cylinder you can just push the cylinder in and out until all the air stops coming out.

That thread is for a UFP actuator, not sure if it will work for Tie Down, you may want to call them, good luck..

    To close this thread down:

Did the job yesterday. Got my wife to crawl under the trailer with a bottle partially filled with fluid and a hose running from the bleeder into the bottle. Primed the master by pushing it in and out a few times. Tie down has a hole in the actuator that allows you to pump the cylinder. I added fluid pumped and wife advised when the bubbles stopped. Went back, crawled underneath and tightened the bleeder. Did the other side and done. Wife was a trooper and very helpful. Now to teach her to back a trailer.
