    1990 Johnson GT175

Model number tag is missing. My problem is when I went to go fishing this morning motor would not start. I replaced the power pack a couple of months ago and it has been running good up till this morning. The motor will turn over, the primer bulb is firm with no leak down. It did not even try to hit as I turned it over. To me it acts like it is getting no spark but I don't know. Any and all help is appreciated.

Yes it is hooked up, but that is exactly what it acts like. Are they replaceable?

Yes the kill switch is replaceable but there are test in the manual that will verify the function of the switch. You will need a meter for the tests. Could also be a bad power pack.

I replaced the kill switch still no luck, I did notice black goo under stator and brown sticky goo on some of the wires, the ones going from pp to under stator. Do I need a new stator? I have no fire to any cylinders.
