about to purchase a boat from an individual and it comes with an 07 ameratrail tandem axle trailer with disc brakes. all aluminum and stainless. he swears it is a 21' trailer and says that trailers have to be 2' longer than the boat (which is 19'). is this true or is the foot length of the trailer measured by what it will haul as in the length of the boat? i think the trailer is 19'. it isn't a huge difference in the value but i need to know for the bank.
If you mean there's 2 foot of bunk sticking out past the end of the transom - that's not right. The bunks should extend past the transom but not that much.
The boat fits the trailer perfectly. The boat is 19'. He claims that the trailer is 21'. Am I wrong in assuming a 19' trailer should fit a 19' boat. He's counting the tongue as the other 2' claiming it is 21'.
If the boat is 19', the trailer has to be longer to have room for the tongue and actuator...21' sounds about right..

Looks like a perfect fit on a a Gambler Trailer... I had an Intimidator 2000 which was 19'10" and it was the second best trailer I have ever had, first best being the trailer under my Puma...
Post this up on the Gambler Board, the guys will have some input for you...
