I have a chance to pick up one of these with a bad cylinder , alot of the ficht motors have a bad name so is it worth my time and effort to rebuild this motor and it be dependable or should I wait and try to pick up a later model ?

If you are going to do the work yourself and you get it giving to you then I would do it. If you do it pull all of the injectors and send them to DFI to be cleaned and tested.![]()

Their down fall was the 60* motors when they started crapping out they brought the FICHT name down with them and the motors no matter what HP they were went down the tubes. That coupled with a bad economy, OMC overspending, caused the company to go bankrupt and leave thousand of motor owners holding the bag. The name is forever tarnished and the motor has no resale value.
