    Light Rust on Spindle

I had my hubs off for a few weeks waiting for a part and my spindels have a real light coating of surface rust. Do I need to do anything with that before I put it all back together again?

Use some 3M emery cloth to clean the rust off before installing the hub. Also check for pitting or damage to the spindle when it is clean.

Go easy with the emory cloth and keep them coated with some grease after you cleaned them up..

Try a Scotch-Brite pad...they're not as abrasive as emery cloth.
