    Heavy Boat, Slick Ramp

I pull my 21ft Skeeter with an 01 F150 Supercrew 4x2. Sometimes, getting up the ramp creates more smoke than starting my VMAX 250.
I heard a tip to put the (Ford) truck in 2nd gear. That sounded strange but I tried it yesterday. The ramp was nice and slick, I put it in 2nd and it pulled my ZX250 right out without spinning the tires! Somehow it loads the truck down and provides better traction.
I also heard it was only on Ford trucks.

    Worked for me.

Putting the gear selector in 2 doesn't "load" the truck down, it puts it in a different gear so that you actually have a harder time spinning the tires. I know it sounds weird to pull with a harder gear but it works. I do the same thing with my FWD Tribute and it works great. Not all vehicles will allow you to start in 2nd gear but Ford has always worked that way.

Works on my Silverado also, I usually use 4x4 though.
