New truck

I just bought a new 08 F-150 it has a 7to 5 harness on it already. I found a wire in the glove box that says it needs to be installed if I am using electronis brakes on my trailer. I have an 07 Z-21 with dual ranger trailer. Will I need to install this wire harness?

No I believe that wiring harness is for what you said trailers with electronic brakes. Its probably the wiring for the brake controller. None of whick you need because your trailer has surge brakes.

i have had all the ford trucks?thats a brake controll wiring connetion,for electronic brakes?the 7 way on your truck is wired for reverse and aux.,battery for pulling travel trailers?your male plug has 5 pins for reverse and power to release your hyd.,brakes for backing up.the 5th pin is the one that allows for the release of your brakes.with out this you cannot back up your boat?
