    Trailer fender rub...pleae help!!!

I posted this in the general bassboats forum as well. I have a 2005 Triton with a single axle trailer. For all you mechanics out there, who can tell me why the right side trailer wheel keeps "sagging" or is rubbing the back part of the fender?? Yet when I put the boat in the water and park, I see the tire returns to a proper position and is centered within the fender. The other tire is always perfectly centered within the wheel well and is not a problem. Its gotten progressively worse and is now rubbing the fender. I had a trailer shop tell me it was a bent axle, yet when they put a new axle on it, the wheel was still well back almost hitting the fender. Thanks for the help!!

Do you have single leaf spring, multi leaf or torsion axle? Has the axle moved? Sping hangers adjustable? Shakle links OK? When you put a new axle on, Did they use the old springs? If so... The mono leaf spring trailers had a recall and will be replaced for free... If you have multi leaf springs, I would consider getting new springs in the proper load capacity rating. They are not expensive and easy to change out>>> http://www.championtrailers.co...e_eye

That's what I was thinking. Check the tightness on everything, and mark the positions with the boat on and off the trailer.

Check the center tie bolt in the spring. It sounds like it migt be broke and allowing the axle to shift back under weight and when you launch it slides back in place. If it is broken you should be able to find one at any parts store. Check the hole or pocket in the axle also. This bolt and the u-bolts need to be TIGHT to keep things from working on one another.
