How to correct fault code 27

I would appreciate any help Ican get on how to correct fault code 27-battery voltage higher than expected range. Dattery voltage at the starter solenoid is 12.85 volts motor not running and 12.62/14.55 when running at idle. I haven't been able to find anything in the service manual on how to correct it.

Thanks in advance for all help.

Re: How to correct fault code 27 (metairiedave)

Code 27 occurs when 15.5 volts is exceeded. First inspect and test the battery, connections, and cables. A corroded connection, wing nuts on the battery, a dry battery, etc. all can contribute to high voltage problems.

The voltage regulation for the systems is controlled by the EMM

Thanks Danrude and Seahorse, I really apprciaate your help with this problem. I think I found the problem. Two loose grounds, one on the battery disconnect switch and the other one on the battery negative terminal. I sure hope this solves my problem. I hope to put it in the lake tomorrow and see if that cures it.

Thanks again, your help told me where to look.

hope that fixes it. The FFI/DI/ETECS are really susceptable to loose or corroded grounds. I try to be meticulous about all my grounds, including on the PH, being clean......SHINEY CLEAN!!!

Re: How to correct fault code 27 (metairiedave)

Many, many thanks to all who helped with this problem. I finally got it all corrected no more alarms or trouble codes. In addition to the previous loose connections I also found an oxidized connection on the positive terminal. 2000 E200FCXSSC is howling again and running like a scared rabbit. It sure is good to be back on the water again.

Mega thanks again guys, I couldn't have done it without your help.
