No doubt it's a bear. Black bears are common but they stay hidden well.

Ok if that's a bear then that is one huge salt block. Looks kinda like a cat to me. Maybe a raccoon without a tail...........but I kinda like the chupacabra idea too............

I've always thought it was a young bear because I don't see a tail on it for it to be a raccoon and I didn't think raccoons came out in the middle of the day. A conservation officer told me he thought it was a raccoon because of the size compared to the salt block as well. I never got another picture of it after this to get another look at it.
Bobcat? A coon's tail would most likely give it away if that's what it was. Doesn't look dark enough to be a bear cub.
