If you are new to shooting, I would not be looking at ordering and having it delivered. You really need to go to a couple of shops and shoot a couple different bows and find one that fits you and is comfortable to shoot. I've shot a couple different bows and most of them just don't feel anywhere near as good as mine does.

I enjoy my Bowtech. But I would handle a bow before I buy one.

I would never a buy a bow until I had a chance to shoot it first. Shoot many and see what fits you best.

Go with any bow as long as it says Bowtech on it.

go to a pro shop and shot as many as they have. Find the one that feels right to you. Have the pro shop set it up for you. Make sure they help you pick out the sights and arrows. Start out right so you can enjoy shooting. In the long run it will save you money as well. Been there done this.

Check out Mission or Diamond bows for value. They are sister companies of Mathews and Bowtech with alot of the same components but a easier price tag to swallow. I shoot a mathews and couldnt be happier. I had originally shot a Bear which was also a nice bow for the money.

I love my matthews but you need to really take a trip to your local archery shop and shoot some bows. If they are good guys, they will allow you to practice with their demo models and you can see what bow you prefer...my suggestions...

All you will get here are opinions on what people own. I love Ross Bows but I can't say it is what you need. Shoot as many as you can and decide which one you want after trying the ones you shoot!!

Go to as many bow shops as you can and try different bows. Each feels different. What I like may not suit you. I have shot about every brand out there and I keep coming back to Hoyt. I'm currently shooting a Bowtech but I still prefer Hoyt.

anouther vote for HOYT !!!! but it would be best for you to shoot different kinds to see what YOU like plus you would need to know what draw lenght you are and what poundage you can shoot.. I shoot an 04 hoyt X tec 31 inch draw @ 58 pounds

Re: What hunting bow to buy? (jimfc3)

Out of the big 3 or 4 there is no hands down best bow. As stated above the best bow out there is the one YOU like and have confidence in. I hate it when people try to push their product on a newbie. I personally shoot Mathews, but would never tell someone it's the best for them. The bad thing is it doesn't sound like you have the option to go to a shop that has multiple brands and make your own decision. Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, Bear and Pearson all make great bows, it is personal satisfaction that matters.
