What range and I would guess mule deer. I've been shooting them shortly after they came out. I've got just about every cal. they came out with and a few wild cats. 7x 30 Waters or the 30-30 works great in the T/C. I've used the JDJ 6.5 #2 ( based on a 307 case) wild cat round to take mule deer and white tail.45-70 would work for elk, I would go to the 16.25 barrel with a brake, it's not that bad to handle. If you want to go bigger or should say higher pressure you'll need to go to the Encore 308 Win or 260 Rem..
12 lbs 9 oz caught on 4/28/1975 Lake Eufaula
White Tail Hunting , and i would say around 100 yds.. been checking out the 7 x 30 waters![]()
.35 Remington is tough to beat... or the old stand-by .44 mag![]()

Can't wait to try out my new .44 Mag barrel on a whitetail this fall.

7x30 is a great round. My brother has one and it shoots factory ammo fantastic.

Friend of mine in Indiana shoots the .35 Rem in a handgun similar to the one pictured. Very comfortable to shoot and I've watched him drop some deer where they stood. He and I would shoot golf balls out to 75 yds with it, with a good rest of course.
