what kind of mods can i do to a johnson 120 outboard to boost my performance on my 1991 javelin 363 bass boat. i have a 6" jack plate already on the boat. i'm seeing about 52mph (speedo) trimmed all the way up, and full throttle.

I got a '93 363 Fish n Ski and had a 120 on it till it had a rod bearing go out...I'm impressed you're getting 52...I could only get about 47 out of mine...I didn't have a jack plate though. Be sure all the little hoses going into the intake manifold area are hooked up and one hasn't fallen off...is what caused mine to eat a rod bearing...had one that had come off and it caused it to run lean.
