    Great Day!

Business is definitely picking up here in the MS Delta.

My best fishing and hunting partner (my brother, Rob) sure had an incredible morning!

At 8:10, he caught this fellow coming home late from a night carousing with the ladies...

I know you're wondering... The answer is... 25 5/8"!!! Man am I happy for him!

Then, after skinning, caping, trip to the taxidermist and processor, etc, we sat down to have a couple celebratory and the phone rings. One of our buddies calls to say that his son (a friend of my son) had shot a super nice buck this evening. Here's the result ...

This is two great bucks for two great folks. As I said, it's on!

Here are a couple more pics of Rob's deer...

And almost forgot... While we were skinning his deer, a friend of ours pulls this out of his truck ...

A 160"+ (green gross) 8-pt that he took with a muzzleloader in Illinois.

I know a few companies down here that have some land in Port Gibson and surrounding areas. I'd give one of my legs to hunt there.

We hunt east of St. Francisville in La. Got a few nice ones, but nothing even close to that.

If you're in the Delta (AR, LA, MS), chances are good that some great bucks are present in your area.

We let a pile of younger bucks (up to 3 1/2 and sometimes 4 1/2) walk each year, with the hopes of seeing them at 5+. Usually, we never see them again. But... When one of us is able to tag a really special buck every 3 or 4 years, it makes the whole process alot easier to suffer through.

We hunted public ground for a lot of years, but are now blessed to have a couple of small private tracts to hunt. As everyone already knows, the difference is night and day.

Having good neighbors with similar goals also doesn't hurt.

    Best of luck to you.
