just wondering if any of you guys make your own calls and did you have any success with them? i started experimenting last spring, making slates, aluminums and crystals. kinda cool having sex crazed birds come running to commit suicide to your work. i wasn't to fond of the crystal i made my brother, but he's got 9 birds with it during spring-his plus guiding for others. the aluminum still needs a little something, gonna try a different s/b. the slate is the best i've used yet for a slate.

i love my woodhaven's, but i want to start making my own diaphram calls. i know they sell those kits but i'm leery of those. anyone have experience making them? where did ya get the frames and reed material?

yes, as a former champion contest caller, I have made my own diaphrams. I now have mine built by former a Grand national and World champion caller to my own specs. Its a tedious process to learn and takes alot of trial and error. If you are interested I have a Call Puurfect kit. Here is the link.

I also have a bunch of quality latex and a few Pro Form frames. These are much better than the frames that come with the call puurfect kit as they have sticky tape in the frame and hold the latex much better and are also the same frams all the contest callers use. The Latex I have is a special formula and is hand chosen and Micrometer measured for consistancy. If you are interested I will take $50.00 for the lot. This is worth over $100, and you cant get the quality of latex in my kit. I can also provide information as to where to get replacement frames, tape etc.
