    "P" hole blockage?

New here, hello all. I have a Evinrude/Johnson 200 1994 model on my Javelin boat. I had the impeller and large fuel line replaced recently, mechanic said the impeller was still good but he changed it anyway. Now I am getting a tan material clogging the P hole. I run a wire round brush through this hole and it works for a very short period of time, then clogged again. Yesterday I was at high rpm moving down the lake (all fresh water) and the alarm sounded. Cleaned the hole and started to move again but could never plane out. When I mashed hard on the gas it sputters like it has bad gas. Last Aug when I parked it it was running great. (think a mud dobber has gotten in there?)
    What should I do?

Welcome to the BBC, you can remove the tell tale by using a 13/16" socket. Insert your garden hose into the flushing port and turn on the water. This will back flush it. Let the water run for a few minutes. Then connect a set of cooling muffs to the hose and start the motor this should flush out any more residue in there. The motor may have heated up enough to toss it into SLOW mode and limited your RPM to 2500. It would stay in that state until the overtemp sensors cool back down.

Thanks. Do you know a site where I can purchase a good repair book on this particular engine?

    Thanks again.
