Tried this? http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=357667
I'm having the same trouble, it helped using the tips I found on here when starting, but after setting 20-30 mins it won't idle without bumping the choke. What does the 60 degree motor part mean?
There\'s a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid!![]()
It means the V of the block. Big block V-6's are 90* blocks. Usually adjusting the throttle arm to the throttle roller via the throttle cable and then adjusting the timing arm fixes a majority of the issues. If your carbs have adjustable idle jets you can try backing them out one full turn. You can also prior to starting after sitting for a bit squeeze the primer bulb to inject some cool fuel into the vapor tank.
Thanks. Mine is a 2000 175hp, I'm sure that classifies as 90* I'll try the primer bulb tip first. What should the rpms be? I believe it's idling around 900-1000 in neutral and 800 in forward.

Nope, 60*
