How often should you change anchor ropes? Is there a rule of thumb? The anchor rope looks OK, but how do you know if it is? I hate to loose two expensive anchors but hate to waste money on new rope.

Really depends on the type of rope, but if it was mine and I hadn't used it in 5 years I would replece it. That's just me. If you use it regularly, as long as its not stranded or visibly damaged they should last for 10 years or more

as long as it's not damaged looking it should be fine. Unless your anchor REALLY digs in your line is never really under that much stress...

If it's exposed to the sun a lot, swap it before you think it needs it.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
