What exactly are you trying to clean ? Scum Lines on a white hull ? Colored metalflake hull ?
get some nuhull and some bassboatsaver, and you will be sold for life on both products. the nuhull will bring back the color and the bbs will keep it looking great from here on out
Yes, exactly a scum line on a white aluminum hull. The rest of the boat is two toned. Grey is the other color.

WELCOME TO THE BBC.....for aluminum, you cannot beat this stuff http://www.sharkhide.com
but, as you asked, household items to clean would be vinegar with very little water added. if it's really bad, you'll have to keep at it, and be patient. i have heard adding a little baking soda to a sponge, with the vinegar works too, but have never tried it.
Do NOT use comet or any other abrasive, it will take the shine out of your finish.
Have you tried Simple Green? It's fairly non-toxic and biodegradable but I still wouldn't pour it straight into the lake. Works pretty well for basic cleaning esp. around transom.
