    Re: Replacing the carpet (goose)

I would seriously consider doing it myself. Get a price on an appropriate quantity of marine or outdoor carpet, adhesive, some craft paper to use for templating, and a good supply of blades and a cutter. My old Terry used rivets and aluminum molding to attach the carpet to the edges of hatches and livewell lids so I bought a good supply of those as well.

I did the entire boat for about $200. I took my time and did a good job. I was able to sell it for more than I paid for it after nine years of ownership.

Man, If I still lived in Martinsburg, I would have done it for you for a couple of beers and getting to fish after we were done. If you havent gotton it done by next spring, I should be back up there.

Have you tried Cabela's? They have a good selection of carpet in several grades.

Check with bassboatcarpets.com, they have some really nice carpet for a fair price. You wont regret doing it yourself...ok you might about half-way through as it is a time consuming job. Once it is done though you will have alot more money in your pocket and alot of pride in the job. Good luck, post some pics in the resto board, everyone would love to see them.
