    Charging Batteries

I have a three bank charger on my boat - with a cranking battery and two deep-cycle batteries. I understand that if I come in from the lake, I can hook the charger to the AC. What happens if I do not plan on using the boat for a week or two? Will leaving the charger pluggted on the AC hurt the batteries or will it simply be a trickle charge and then shut off when fully charged?

I thank you for this board for us newbies and appreciate your ideas.

    Thanks in advance.

Lark, most new chargers go to a trickle charge (float) when they have topped off the batteries.. Look at your chargers web site and see what they say about the model you have.. Louis

It is a three bank with a triton name on it - i have been told that it is a private-branded Dual Pro. Would this shut off the charge when completed?

Try this link and see if you can locate the retail version of your charger. I think it is probably the Pro SE which is at this link:

    http://www.dualpro.com/new/se3.html

All the Dual Pro 3-Banks are fully automatic and you can simply hook up and leave them on until you head out again.

Once you locate your model charger you should be able to download a free copy of the owner/operator's manual.
