Pull the lower unit off and send it to Gearcaseman, Eddie Pope. He'll fix you right up and is just up the road in Charleston, TN. Quick service and all around good guy. His contact info is posted in the one stop shopping thread on the top of this forum.

    Re: broke prop shaft!! (catch5nRide)

Unless the shaft broke from an impact, usually the cause is from not torquing the propnut to spec. With a "loose" prop, the front thrust washer can wobble or spin causing a weak spot in the shaft. Then when conditions are just right, bingo, no shaft.

If it broke while running at speed, retorque your mount bolts and the powerhead bolts to be on the safe side.

No its not a low water pickup so I'm told it is a lighting lower unit its a high output Lu I think it has different gears in it. Yea UPS wanted to charge me like $150 to ship my Lu to Tenn from al one way and $150 back to me. So I got up with a local guy and he's gonna preform the work I just hope he's as good as Eddie pope

The UPS rate was high because of the oversize box. If you had pulled the drive shaft it would have been much less.

Yea I ask a few guys if a low water pickup would help me. But they said if I'm getting good water pressure Not to fool with it. But I would like to be able to jack up my motor some more and see what it would do

If you run the motor high with the OMC WITHOUT PINNING THE CARRIER IT WONT LIVE. They dont like to be surfaced like the sportmasters and such.
