Lifting motor to install Power Pole Brackets

Guys, what is best way to lift my 04 225HO. Do I use a Harmonic balancer puller with Eye bolt or is there another way to lift safely. I plan to use a motor lift. I only need to move motor back off jackplate 3/4" to slip 1/2" thick Power Pole Brackets in and refasten with longer bolts. I am mounting between Jackplate and motor bracket, so I wont have to worry with Transom attachment etc.
From previous posts, I think I can make do with a harmonic balancer puller 3 5/16x24pitch x 3-1/2" fine thread bolts some large washers and a heavy eye bolt. Does this sound right? Is there anything in particular with the 2004 225HO Di to look out for?
    Thanks James

Brackets are on....motor back in place. Lifting ring(harmonic balancer and eye bolt) worked like a charm. Thanks fro the help.

If you bought the balancer keep it, great tool to have. You can use it for pulling the prop shaft bearing carrier to re-seal your lower unit. You can use it too for pulling the Flywheel if needed.

Will any generic harmonic balancer puller kit work or do I need to get a specific OMC tool?
