    Adding an oil level sensor?

I'd like to add an oil level gauge to my console, I have the gauge but I'm not sure what else I need. I have a remote oil tank in the bilge area and the outboard is a 1990 150XP. Do I just need a sending unit for the tank? Are they universal?

you can get universal fuel level sending units from jegs.com for about $30.00. but you would have to cut a hole in your oil tank. be easier to just fill your tank when it gets below 1/2 tank.
