    Lower Unit Lube

I am sure this has been asked but I have a 09 225 etec ho that is one year old this month. on all my previous boats i have changed the lower unit lube around the first of december each year. the manual sais to change every three years and am wondering if i should do it each year or wait. i probably put 100 to 150 hours per year on the motor.

The ETEC does infact have a 3 year 300 hr maintenance schedule. I Just like knowing there is no water beforethe winter sets in, I would change it just for peace of mind. go back with the HPF -XR Ultra.

just talked to the etec mechanic at the shop and he said change it every year for the same reasons we have all these years, to make sure no water in it for the winter and to look for excessive metal fragments. lube it up boys!!!!

Does this means your prop spins faster with AMS OIl Marine Gerar Lube than other gear lubes?

If you can't run with the big dogs, just stay on the porch.

    Re: Lower Unit Lube (DoferGofer)

It just feels better luberacated then brp gear oil and I also run AMS OIL HP injector 2 CYCLE oil in the motor and it runs better then x100 and hardly and carbon on the prop. Any more questions feel free to ask.
