    Shallow water SI

Scooting around on a small flat- one corner had some fish on it.

Caught a half dozen in 45minutes with ice flying off my guides. Fun time.

Yes in the pic where the cursor is, I see 5 or more. On what looks to be a clump of healthier/thicker/different weeds on the edge of a flat.

You see the difference in the grass versus the fish in the shape of the returns. The more you use SI the more intune you will get in seeing the fish in structure like this.

    Doug/nickyp,
Could you break down this image a little further? I can see the grass clumps/patches off to either side and 2-3 fish near the cursor. But I cant see 5 or more fish? Are the fish in this image be hovering above the grass as opposed to being in the grass since they appear over a black shadow area? It almost looks to me like they are suspended right over the edge of a drop. Also, does the area directly under the boat and appx. 10-15ft to either side have grass and it just appears blown out because it is so thick and is directly below the boat/transducer? I see this scenario a lot locally and have always had a hard time interpreting the image. Thanks.

Sonar BEam can't pass thru the thick grass so it's creating sonar shadows.

Both below and to the right of curser it looks like 5 or 6 fish...Look for the vertical light colored lines...all running close to the same direction south to north/s.west to n.east...they look different than the grass...If you had it zoomed in on that spot, they would stand out much more..
