2D vs Down Imaging vs Side Imaging

Here are three screen shots of the same piece of structure. Notice the fish on the structure. The 2D sensitivity is a little hot but you can tell from the 2D and DI how deep you should fish. The DI helps break out the fish a little bit better than the 2D. The SI is the ticket though.. it tells you what side of the boat and give you a great look at the structure so you know exactly what you are fishing and where it is located.

    Nice pics!

How's the fishing now on Ross Barnett?

I was there in May and the fishing wasn't anywhere near as good as it was when I fished there back in the 90's. Of course, it was 100 degrees out. Air boats were everywhere spraying herbicides and killing all the vegetation. Most of the lily pads were gone from Pelahatchie Bay which was my favorite spot to fish cause I lived right across the bay.

Got another trip planned for RB in mid-April next year. Ought to be a good time to be there. Hope they leave the lake alone for awhile and give it a break from all that spraying.

Exactly! 2D and DI are useful but Side Imaging is the BOMB!

Jim, I lived on the REZ for a couple of years. They killed all the pads??? WOW!! WTF for??? It was a tough but fun lake to fish.

I have been taking a break from bass fishing so I am not real sure. I do know that when they spray the pads it turns the fish off for at least 2-3 weeks. It gives the bass lock jaw big time. There was a big tournament the week of or week after the spray and it was some of the lowest total weights I have ever seen. I am sure it has picked back up now. They seem to spray every couple years. I guess it helps keep it under control. Don't worry though... they are back and thick as ever now. Looks like they never sprayed.
